About Us |
|
We are a motley bunch of people with one thing in common: we all have HD in our families. What this means is that we understand one another very well. Some of us meet regularly, others prefer to stay in touch mainly through the newsletters. But we’re all here for one another. We’re required to have a committee, and it’s this:
We meet every two months in Southampton. Click here for dates. In between times we go on outings and have social get-togethers. We also have special meetings for carers, and others just for HD people. We produce about six newsletters a year. We raise funds to finance the above, and so that we can help those of us who need money for respite care, equipment, or other problems. Our Regional Care Adviser is Eve Payler. She’s on the staff of the national HDA, but her patch is Hampshire and Berkshire. She’s based in Southampton, so isn’t too far away from most of us. One slight drawback: she doesn’t work fulltime. This is another reason why we fundraise. |
